We analyse space-saving furniture and equipment and we measure what almost no shop tells you: how much room they take up when you are not using them. With complete entries, scale drawings and a comparison tool that puts the real measurements side by side.

The best of each section

What convinced us most within each kind of furniture. We do not rank them against each other: a bed and a footstool are not competing for the same thing.

How we choose

We do not test furniture in a laboratory and we are not going to tell you we do. What we do is pull the complete listing for each product, normalise the measurements so they can be compared with one another, fill the gaps from the manufacturer's documentation and score seven criteria with public rules.

When a figure does not exist, we leave it empty. You will see «—» on several entries: that is exactly what we want you to see when a manufacturer does not publish something.

    Every measurement to the same unit, so two products really can be compared.

    What Amazon does not give, we look up at the manufacturer. What is nowhere stays empty.

    Seven criteria from 0 to 10 with published formulas, the same for everyone.
