About us
Abatible is an independent project that started in August 2026 with one very specific question: how much room does a folding piece of furniture take up when it is folded?
What we do
We compare space-saving furniture and equipment for small flats and rooms: folding desks and tables, narrow shelving, compact seating, beds that store things and exercise equipment. Today that is 29 products in 5 sections.
For each one we gather the open and stored measurements, work out how much floor it gives back when put away and score it on five fixed criteria, the same for everything. Almost every shop tells you how big a piece is open; very few tell you how much room it takes folded. That second figure is the one we go after.
How we do it, and how we do not
We do not test the furniture at home. The measurements come from each product's listing and from the manufacturer's documentation, and they are compared under the same rules for everything. When a figure is not published, we say so and we do not make it up.
We use automated tools to collect and organise the data and to prepare the analyses. The criteria, the formulas and the rules they follow are set by us, and they are published in How we score.
Who is behind it
A small, independent team with no ties to any manufacturer or shop. No brand pays to appear or for its score. The owner's details are in the legal notice, as the law requires.
How it is funded
Through commissions from the Amazon Associates Programme: if you buy through our links, Amazon pays us a percentage, and it costs you the same. It is explained in the affiliate disclosure.
For journalists and bloggers
If you write about small homes, you are welcome to use our data with a credit. The most useful piece is usually the count of how many manufacturers publish the folded size, which updates itself with every new product.
